Multicolor 3MF files, ready for AMS printing

Every model below comes with a multi-color 3MF: the parts are already split by color and assigned to filament slots, so a printer with a color changer can print it without painting. Reliefs, Christmas ornaments, figurines, magnets and fidget clickers, all from the Printara marketplace.

Each card shows the number of filament colors in the file. The images are renders of the files, not photos of prints. Open a model to see its files and price, or browse the whole marketplace.

AMS ready models

What "AMS ready" means

A 3MF file can contain several separate parts and record which filament each part uses. In an AMS ready file that work is already done: the model is split along its color regions and every region is mapped to a filament slot. You load the spools, check the mapping in your slicer and print.

With a color changer

A Bambu Lab AMS holds four spools per unit. A four-color file fits one unit; files with 8, 12 or 16 colors need more units or merged colors. Other multi-material systems work the same way if your slicer reads the 3MF color assignments.

Without a color changer

Print the STL in one color and paint, or merge colors in the slicer and plan filament swaps at layer changes. Flat layered designs such as the magnets are usually the easiest to print this way.

Every color change costs purge filament and time. If a file offers fewer colors than your slots, fine; if it offers more, merging similar shades usually looks better than a crowded print.

Multicolor 3MF FAQ

Do I need an AMS to print these files?

No, but it helps. The 3MF assigns each part to a filament slot, so a printer with a color changer such as a Bambu Lab AMS prints the colors in one go. With a single extruder you can print one color and paint, or merge colors and plan filament swaps in your slicer.

How many filaments do I need?

The number on each card is the number of filament colors in the file. One AMS unit holds four spools, so files with more colors need more slots or merged colors. Each extra color also adds purge waste and print time.

Which slicers open the 3MF?

The files are prepared for AMS-style color changers and open in Bambu Studio and OrcaSlicer with the colors assigned. In any slicer, check the part count and the filament mapping after import.

Do the listings include STL files as well?

Most do, for single-color printing or painting by hand. Each listing shows exactly which files it includes and its price.

Can I make my own multicolor 3MF?

Yes. The image to 3MF converter, the Christmas ornament maker and the Fidget Clicker Maker all export multi-color 3MF files from your own images, and the AI 3MF Generator paints a textured 3D model into a multi-color 3MF with no credits. You need a Printara account. New accounts start with 0 credits, and flat designs and exports need none.
